Thank you Ron. It really is the goal of the movement, after all, as you said, regulating rape is not possible, and it's unconscionable. Please contact us about your efforts. And thanks again.

Congrats on the formation of Ban Michigan Fracking. We in Ohio salute you. All of our states' ban fracking movements must stand together in solidarity. It IS the next step in our movement. We too have tried reform and working with our state officials and regulators. We quickly discovered that our state government has been captured by the oil and gas corporations. We are now on the BAN WAGON with you and many others. Regulating fracking is like regulating rape. And fracking really is a rape of the earth and a rape of the communities where the industry has invaded. We need to have the energy corporations, like CHesapeake, UN-occupy our states! We need GREEN energy and GREEN jobs now -- not fracking.

excellent.

unless the grassroots takes on these groups directly, they will succeed in pushing 'safe' fracking as the best we can get. We know that's a lie. If the NRDC were shamed into supporting a ban and in turn embarrassed the political establishment (Obama, Cuomo, Skelos, Sweeney etc) making clear demands to them, we would win a ban and win drastic investments in decentralized renewables. I agree with Juresky on this: without the NRDC being publicly exposed and challenged we can't win.

Of course, the NRDC Board members that are heavily invested in fossil fuels and the BAU scenario might not appreciate this). But are the NRDC a sell-out group or not!

In the province of Quebec, people are going door to door, in many towns and villages, making people sign a pledge letter vowing to refuse to sign with a landman. Some communities have signed up to 80% of the surface. The campaign is called "VOUS N'ENTREREZ PAS CHEZ NOUS!". A bit like the "LOCK THE GATE" campaign in Australia.

We must stand united!

This is great to share, these sell out groups like NRDC and Riverkeeper are a dangerous menance. RFK was in ads in the New York er touting the cleanliness of so-called natural gas. Other groups are continuing to raise money while duping folks and hope the hearing process drags on for years. criminalize or ban this now!

i am a landowner in criders va and hydro fracking in this area is a very bad idea. it ruins water sheds and kills wildlife not to metion my own personal health. it ruins your drinking water by emmitting toxic chemicals into water wells. the companies will tell the public that the chemicals they use are "safe"and not toxic to humans.but alot of people are finding this out to be false, especcially when you can catch your drinking water on fire, but don't take my word for it look into it and see for yourself.

Pennsylvania's economy relies heavily on tourist dollars, traditionally attracted by its once-beautiful, now-threatened natural areas. PA drilling corps, their friends in state & local govt., and residents who have bought into the fracking disaster now anticipate the annual autumn foliage season to attract the leaf-peepers again. But why should we visit a state that is in the process of destroying the very assets that attract tourism-- assets that support the very life of the ecosystems, not only of PA, but of neighboring NY & NJ as well?

I am considering spreading the following "Boycott PA" slogan around (as a signature, for example). The idea is to get the message across to the parties mentioned above that neighboring populations do not appreciate the downstream/contiguous area effects of their selfish pursuits. But I am concerned that this tactic might financially impact innocent PA victims of fracking as well. Perhaps it would be possible to target those specific, high-drilling-concentration areas where damage is most imminent if not already evident, as undeserving of tourist interest and revenues (who wants to go fishing in a polluted stream?). But for now... I wonder what would the people of PA in general would say in response to this:

Boycott Pennsylvania, Corporate-owned Fracking Capital of the East!

A considered response would be welcome. Meanwhile, keep up the good work!
